Discover Your Bahamas Student Educational Programme
Bahamas Ferries has been offering unforgettable field trips to the Family Islands since 2000. Initially, the programme started with North Eleuthera, however it has expanded to Abaco and Andros.
Initially, the field trips showcased the unique cultural and historic nature of the Family Islands in a safe and fun-filled environment. Recently, Bahamas Ferries teamed up with the Bahamas National Trust to further enhance its school programme and thus an environmental component has been added to the programme.
The packages have been designed to give students from pre-school through college an environmental, cultural and historical perspective of the islands by bringing text book to life as they explore the world renowned Pr eacher’s Cave in Eleuthera, the wild horses of Abaco and enchanting blue holes in Andros.
The objective of the programme is to ensure that students have the opportunity to visit at least three Family Islands before graduating from school and in many instances it is the first experience for most of them to our beautiful islands.
A unique component to the programme is the incentive feature, which enables Bahamas Ferries to give back to the schools in a tangible way.
